• Designate Captain and Officers.

• Assign watches. Designate a Yeoman for each watch.

• Establish a voyage plan. Leave a copy with a responsible person on shore.

• Insure there are enough PFDs, demonstrate their use.

• Fill water bottles.

• Designate one or more trash receptacles.

• Verify that safety equipment (Fire Extinguishers, Air-horns, Flares) are loaded.

• Turn on Marine VHF Radio and set to Channel 16.

If there are newbies/non-members:

• Explain/demonstrate rowing commands.

• Read the Articles of the Voyage to the crew.

After leaving dock:

• Bring the fenders inboard.
